INDIA HIV VACCINE UNDERGOES FIRST PHASE OF CLINICAL TRIAL

HIV treatment in India is undergoing a new phase. The first phase of vaccine which was being developed in India for HIV  has cleared the test with flying colors and the researchers are happy with the outcome. The first phase of the test is crucial as it has to clear on many fronts like information on safety and any vaccine related side effects. The test came clear on every level and the researchers started working on the other aspects of the vaccine. Normally a vaccine is tested on animals first and then several rounds of these vaccines are tested on the people so that complete verification can happen.

India currently is the top most country with the maximum number of HIV cases and the development of such a vaccine would be a bone to many people of the country. Around 25-30 lakh people in India are infected by HIV.
The vaccine tested is called tgAAC09 and this is a preventive vaccine against HIV. People without HIV can be protected against the disease and it is not a medicine or a drug for the people who are HIV positive.
HIV is a growing problem in our country and needs to be checked at the earliest. Hence when the National AIDS Research Institute (NARI), Pune started the testing of the Vaccine a lot of people heaved a sigh of relief. Around 32 people were enrolled for the test and researchers were sure that the AIDS day would bring some new answers for the people.
